The strange-but-true Evansville to Kentucky Wesleyan College pipeline continues. The latest to follow this unusual basketball path is North High School’s Cameron Seaton, who committed Friday to play for the Panthers next season.

Seaton, a smooth-shooting 6-foot-2 guard, averaged 14.8 points and 5.6 rebounds for the Huskies, who won the Class 4A North Sectional championship this past winter.

“Cam is a kid who works extremely hard,” said North coach Jason Roach. “From day one when I arrived at North he was coming in before school to shoot. He is a competitor who doesn’t like to lose. He is not afraid to do the little things that it takes to win big games.”

He said Seaton is an even better 3-point shooter than his 35-percent mark from long distance indicates.

“He had the ability and confidence to shoot from way beyond the arc, which translates well at the next level,” Roach said. “Cam fits what (new KWC) coach (Drew) Cooper and his staff are trying to do at KWC in their first year.
