2026 Fall Junior Fundamentals League

2026 Fall Junior Fundamentals League – Presented by Pocket City Basketball

2nd – 4th Grade boys participants are guaranteed a minimum of 7 games played over 4 weeks, concluding with a single elimination tournament during Week 4.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade participants are eligible to play up in the league.

All registrations are completed on an individual basis. The Fall Junior Fundamentals League will feature a developmental 2nd – 4th Grade division focused on teaching, skill development, spacing, teamwork, basketball IQ and competitive game experience in a structured environment.

A waiting list will be utilized once all spots are filled.

Participants will receive a full custom game uniform to keep that will be worn for all league contests. Last names will appear on the back of each jersey.

4 on 4 play is allowed.

League Structure:
The Fall Fundamentals League will consist of a maximum of 7 total league teams with approximately 8-9 players per roster. Total league capacity is expected to be approximately 55-65 total participants.

All teams will play two games each Sunday during Weeks 1-3. Week 4 will conclude with a single elimination tournament.

Game times will begin at 12:15 PM with the final scheduled game beginning at 6:15 PM.

Teams will rotate throughout the day to allow for balanced scheduling, proper rest periods and an organized game environment.

All registrations are completed on an individual basis. Bench coaches may request up to 4 total players, including their own child, to be placed on the same league team. To submit a request, please email pocketcitybball@gmail.com.

Various City of Evansville Locations

Admission:
Spectators will be charged a $7 admission fee each week. Children 12 and under will receive free entry. Pass outs will be available.

Coaches, referees and volunteer scoreboard/scoresheet operators will receive free admission upon signing in.

Rules:
All games will consist of two 18 minute running clock halves. Clock will stop during the final minute of the game. One 30 second timeout is allowed per half, along with one floating full timeout. A three minute halftime break will be utilized.

First overtime will consist of a 2 minute period. Second overtime will be immediate sudden death with a tipoff (first basket wins).

Coaches will have the option to compete on either 9 foot or 10 foot goals using a 28.5” basketball. Both coaches must agree on rim height shortly after league schedules are released. All tournament games will be played on 10 foot goals.

Player, parent and fan conduct will be strictly enforced. Fighting or unsportsmanlike conduct may result in immediate dismissal from the league without refund.

Pocket City Basketball will not be responsible for forfeits.

The Fall Fundamentals X-League is designed to provide young players with a positive and competitive introduction to organized basketball while emphasizing:

All teams and/or will receive a one hour practice and skill devolopment block during the week prior to league play beginning.

This league is intended to prepare players for future school basketball, league basketball and advanced Pocket City Basketball programming.
