Congrats are in order for three young men who have proudly represented Pocket City Basketball on the Spring travel circuit. With their fantastic play, the 2019 Kyler Stiver of Franklin County (KY), Jamarion Sharp of Hopkinsville (KY) and Carson Guthrie of Mayfield (KY) have earned invites to the Larry Hughes Camp.
A familiar face will be in charge of the Central Bears basketball team next year.
During Tuesday’s EVSC meeting, Rodney Walker was named the new head coach for Central basketball. Walker, who has been a coach at Central since 2006, was the coach for the Bear’s JV team previously.
He helped lead the JV team to a 16-4 record last season.

A former standout from Dru Smith’s old school helped lead him to his new one.
Missouri landed one of the most sought-after transfers on the market Friday in Evansville guard Dru Smith, which already has fans looking ahead to the 2019-20 season, when the 6-foot-4 guard becomes eligible.
Smith chose the Tigers over Xavier and Virginia Tech after making an official visit to Columbia from Tuesday to Thursday.
Bosse’s Jaylin Chinn has signed with Indianapolis. The Bulldogs senior averaged 15 points per game last season.
Chinn has been a big part of Bosse’s recent success. The 5’11 guard scored his 1,000th career point last season, helping lead Bosse to a runner-up finish in 3A.
