The AAU season is almost upon us and we are ready to get things going.  This season, we begin again with our previews of some of the top AAU programs in the state.  Today, we take a look at one of the top 2019 programs in the state with Pocket City 2019.

# Name HT POS Class HS
10 Zane Gross 6’2 SG 2019 Silver Creek
32 Paxon Bartley 6’4 SF 2019 Wood Memorial
50 Zach Dove 6’5 C 2019 Princeton
8 Matt Dove 6’9 PF 2019 Princeton
1 Connor Guthrie 6’3 SG 2019 Mayfield (KY)
3 Carson Guthrie 6’5 SG 2019 Mayfield (KY)
23 Logan Carter 6’10 C 2019 Evansville Mater Dei
5 Kyle Stivers 6’2 SG 2019 Franklin County (KY)

Strengths: This 2019 group is an interesting one with some out of state prospects joining some really talented, under-the-radar players from Indiana. Stivers and Carson Guthrie are a pair of really good scorers from Kentucky.  Zane Gross is a solid shooter from down south and Matt Dove is one of the better big men in the state in 2019.  The strength of this group is the amount of scoring threats they have. It looks like they could have any number of players step up.

Why College Programs Should Watch: College programs from around the Midwest would be interested in this group from a number of different levels. DIII up to LM programs could find some interest in guys.  Dove, Carter, Stivers, and Carson Guthrie have the most upside but Bartley and Gross could take major jumps this summer.

Player To Watch: Matt Dove (Princeton) – Dove is a long, lean 6’9 forward who can play on the wing and in the post.  He’s still in the infancy of his development but his production is likely to be much more significant during the summer than in high school.  Could end up a top player in the class.

Where To Find Them: This group will be all over the Midwest.   They will be in Indianapolis to start for IndyBall and Circle City Classic but will also end up in Run-n-Slam, Louisville for Adidas All-In, and the AAU Super Showcase in Orlando to end the year.
