The AAU season is almost upon us and we are ready to get things going.  This season, we begin again with our previews of some of the top AAU programs in the state.  Today, we take a look at Pocket City Basketball and their top 2018 group.

# Name HT POS Class HS
0 Dylan Penn 6’1 PG 2018 Evansville Memorial
20 Robin Duncan 6’4 PG 2018 Evansville Harrison
14 Triston Wilkinson 6’3 SF 2018 Castle
1 Jaylin Chinn 5’10 PG 2018 Evansville Bosse
22 Cameron Seaton 6’3 SG 2018 Evansville North
4 Lathan Falls 6’4 SF 2018 Wood Memorial
40 Bryant Nalley 6’5 SF 2018 Pike Central
43 Wes Obermeier 6’6 PF 2018 Gibson Southern
24 Luke Gohmann 6’5 SF 2018 Floyd Central

Strengths: For this group, the strength is their size. They aren’t overly tall but in 2018 in Indiana, there isn’t much size so tall guards and versatility will be key and this group has some of that.  Bringing in a guy like Luke Gohmann will give them a guy who can play pretty much everywhere.  They will likely play a little bit fast and they have more offensive weapons than one would assume at first glance.

Why College Programs Should Watch: This team has a wide variety of players from DI prospects down to DIII guys.  Robin Duncan is such a talented guy and could draw in a slew of DI options.  However, guys like Penn, Chinn, Nalley, Gohmann, and Obermeier give you size at key spots on the floor and could draw some high level NAIA and DII schools. This is a group of players that will allow coaches to scout more than one kid at a time.

Player To Watch: The guy for me to watch here is Dylan Penn. A guy that hasn’t gotten much pub to this point but he’s long and lanky and seemed to take a step forward from a scoring standpoint this season.  He’s got the kind of upside that should attract a ton of small schools from the Midwest.

Where To Find Them: This team will play on the Adidas Gauntlet so you will find them in Dallas and Atlanta during the first two open periods.  However, look for them to be in and around the Indiana area outside of the Gauntlet events
